I am excited that you are interested in commissioning a unique mosaic handmade by me.
Before our first meeting please take a minute to gather answers to the following questions. What is your vision for the mosaic? What size will the final piece be? What colors do you have in mind? Do you have a style in mind for the mosaic? What is your budget? Is the mosaic for indoor or outdoor display? Do you have a preference in terms of materials for the mosaic? What type of climate does the mosaic need to be designed for (freezing, temperatures, snow, extreme heat, etc.)? Please provide images similar to what you are planning for the mosaic.
This labor intensive process is an important investment and there are several considerations. Custom mosaics begin at $200 per square foot. The price is also affected by the complexity of design, the materials used, and of course the size of your finished piece. Delivery and installation are priced separately. The first consultation is free of charge and I will be able to give you a rough estimate which will allow you to move forward if you'd like to continue. To determine an exact cost, I charge a non-refundable design fee starting at $125 and again the total is determined by complexity of design and rounds of approval. You will review rough sketches based on our conversation. Once sketches are finalized and an estimated cost for the project is approved, work can begin. Finally, I reserve the right to use my best judgement in selecting colors, materials, and design elements to the best effect while fabrication is underway.
